Lyddington, England

Today was a day of exploring the tiny village of Lyddington (population 400) and surrounding towns. We're enjoying Roger's wonderful hospitality, great wines, great food, and tonight we'll be celebrating the New Years with various friends and neighbors in the village. The weather continues to be very good and we're having a fantastic time! Photos are of the Bede Church, The Old White Hart (which is the town pub) and Pat Balbey's farm.
"It's all in the details!"

London

whew! it's been a little tougher than I thought to find good internet connections - was two minutes away from posting on the train yesterday when we lost connectivity - but we're having fun and seeing EVERYTHING - very good weather so far allowed us to see a Beefeater chasing a fox at the Tower of London, the London Eye, the Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, British Museum, Horse Guard, and much much more - we're now at Roger's place in Lyddington, having dined on roast lamb and good wine last night, followed by a session of Irish Whiskey and Cuban cigars by a peat fire until I slumbered off.

Helping the Shelter

The UA College of Medicine Phoenix gathered a bunch of food, clothing, toiletries and holiday decorations and delivered it all to the Watkins Emergency Shelter for women and families with children. We were given a tour of the facilities and all of the staff were extremely grateful for the gifts. Good job everyone - bravo to Brigitte especially for coordinating the mission.
